You must gather your party before venturing forth... Part four

Greetings all.

Super quick post from me today, before I whizz off to have a cuppa with my nan (yes, really).

Finished up a couple archers and another imp for my Frostgrave warband:

These guys are unmodified chaos thug archers. They came out a little darker than expected, but I'm satisfied nonetheless. The imp is another chaos familiar.

This lot will be getting their second outing tonight, so I suspect I'll be reporting on that later in the week!

By way of a teaser, this little lot are in the painting queue:

Comments welcome as always!

All that glitters: Frostgrave treasure tokens

Greetings all.

Another Frostgrave themed post from me today (get used to them). I had a little bit of time to myself and managed to finish off these rather nice little treasure tokens:

I actually steered away from using glitter on these, although it seems pretty popular in the Frostgrave community. I think it can look good, but I just don't think it fits my style really. I did use some Tamiya clears to pick out the gemstones and make them 'pop' a little more.

I also used the Woodland Scenics snow for the first time (something of an experiment I suppose), and I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. Looking forward to using it on the rest of my Frostgrave bases now. Of course, that means I need to hurry the hell up and get the rest of my warband painted...

Comments are welcome!

Touch nothing but the lamp! Frostgrave genie...

Greetings all.

Just a quickie tonight. As a break from working on my warband, I did a quick and dirty paintjob on one of many (many, many) forthcoming Frostgrave creatures, the genie:

He's just an old air elemental who I liked the look of and thought would fit the part rather nicely. He's also got a buddy joining him soon (large construct/the Granite Golem):

He's another of the old elemental series, this time of the earth variety. I'm trying to avoid collecting the whole range, although they are rather nice... I also painted up the plague elemental a while back:

Anyway, that's all for now. Comments are welcome as ever!

You must gather your party before venturing forth... Part Three

Greetings all.

I haven't had much time for geek stuff over the last few days, but I did manage to get some more work done on my Frostgrave warband, and take some slightly better (though still woefully inadequate) pictures of them.

Here's the handsome bunch all together:

These guys make up about half of the warband I'm aiming for, though it does mean I'm getting there. Individual pics of each and then we'll call it a night.

First up, Sebassis Daemonclaw himself:

His apprentice, Skabb the Acolyte:

A summoned imp:

The faithful hound, Beezer:

A couple of thugs, Rivet and Mad Axe Martin:

And lastly a knight, Karg:

I had to name him Karg, as I couldn't help but be reminded of this fella from Masters of the Universe:

Well that's the last for now, hope you like em. Still gotta add some snow to their bases, but that's a job for further down the line.

You must gather your party before venturing forth... Part two!

Greetings all.

I had intended to write up a post much sooner, to fit in with my new "post more regularly" plan. Clearly that didn't work out so well, but I'll keep trying.

I've been feverishly working away on my little Frostgrave warband, and actually made some pretty good progress. The old chaos thug range is a bit of an odd one, but I've rather enjoyed painting them up. Here's the progress so far:

There are still some details to do on these guys, and I will be going all in and doing snow bases for them (not tried this before). I think what I'll do is do all the snow as a batch once I've got the whole warband painted, just to make sure I can keep it consistent.

Also on the table are a bunch of skeletons and an air elemental (counting as a genie) for a couple of the scenario is from the rulebook:

Lastly, I picked up these very charming treasure chests from the equally charming Dice Bag Lady. Really great set of models these, and Annie was super helpful and speedy (check her out!).

That's it from me for now, hopefully more to come soon (sooner than last time...).
